Hey, everyone. I wrote the blog post below a couple of years ago. It was to be my initial blog post to be followed by many more, however, that...for a lot of reasons...just didn't happen. I've been eager to get back to it. So here we go!
Basically, because we are all, every single one of us, from one small planet on the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy, we should, and need to, all practice these 3 important things every day: Share. Be Kind. Learn. I know it's at least slightly idealistic, but come on, we can all share, be kind, and learn.
When I say Share I am talking about sharing the resources of this planet, equitably, and for everyone. Many resources we humans need to live (water, food, shelter, education/knowledge) can be shared much more equitably than they currently are, especially with the technology, we've all, in some way, contributed to for the last 100 years.
When I say Be Kind I am talking about ending war/conflict, instead of hoarding resources through war sharing resources, and learning how to teach each other more effectively. To be kind really is the connection between sharing and learning, and will help us transition through humanities' infancy to our adulthood.
When I say Learn I am talking about learning. Everyday, anywhere you are, at any time. This is society we live in now, and my personal mission. Not only do I want to learn every day, I also want to teach what I've learned every day. If you know me personally, you know I'm a teacher, but you may not know that I strive to learn as much as I teach every single day. In fact, it's only through this teaching and learning relationship, we have with ourselves, and others, that we can begin to understand this universe. My motto: Live in Beta. Within this connected-global society, we all live in, on this one small planet, we have such an opportunity to learn. More than any other time in human history. Never before has this opportunity to learn been at our fingertips.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this blog. I've decided to update and not remove my initial post from a couple of years ago. However, there is a line below separating this one from that one!
The idea behind the three phrases; Share. Be Kind. Learn., is that every human being is capable of doing those three actions, and everything we do is at least one of these three.
I've decided to make this the title and subject of my first blog post because I try to live my life according to the mantra: Share. Be Kind. Learn. Even though I haven't always been successful, I still see the validity in continuing to try.
This blog will be about my interests, which as I've gotten older have steadily been increasing. I am mostly interested in: science, philosophy, technology (general, educational, and future), intelligence (regular, emotional, adaptive, artificial, and augmentative), space and space travel, and how humans teach and learn.
We all live on the same planet, so let's all make sure to Share with, Be Kind to, and Learn from, with, and next to, one another.
